Über den Autor S. H. Foulkes

Siegmund Heinrich Fuchs (1898-1976) war ein deutscher Psychiater und Psychoanalytiker jüdischer Herkunft. Nach dem Abschluss seines Medizinstudiums arbeitete er als Assistent von Kurt Goldstein in Frankfurt am Main. Anschließend absolvierte er in Wien seine psychoanalytische Ausbildung und leitete danach bis zu seiner Emigration 1933 die Ambulanz am Psychoanalytischen Institut in Frankfurt am Main. 1938 wurde er britischer Staatsbürger und änderte seinen Namen zu S.H. Foulkes. Während des Krieges arbeitete er als Major der britischen Armee im Northfield Military Hospital und entwickelte die gruppenanalytische Psychotherapie. 1952 gründete er die Group Analytic Society London und 1971 das Institute of Group Analysis in London.
