This collection of primary sources demonstrates the complexities of imperial governance. Through revealing the multifarious ways in which people, information, and ideas moved through the imperial order, it leads readers to think of the imperial government not as a centralised 'mind' but as spatially - and oftentimes ideologically - disparate web. It brings together resources showcasing the complex networks of communication and mobility by which the British governed their vast global empire. It will feature sources related to both the offices of the imperial government at home and their representatives in the colonies.
