Über den Autor Erik Olin Wright

Erik Olin Wright (1947-2019) war zuletzt Professor für Soziologie an der Universität von Wisconsin in Madison. Internationale Bekanntheit erlangte er als Gründungsmitglied der Bewegung des »Analytischen Marxismus«, durch seine bahnbrechende Klassentheorie sowie durch sein großangelegtes Forschungsprojekt Envisioning Real Utopias, das in seinem Standardwerk Reale Utopien gipfelte. Er war Präsident der American Sociological Association und wurde für sein in zahlreiche Sprachen übersetztes Werk vielfach geehrt. Oliver Nachtwey, geboren 1975, ist Professor für Sozialstrukturanalyse am Fachbereich Soziologie der Universität Basel. Für sein Buch Die Abstiegsgesellschaft wurde er 2017 mit dem Hans-Matthöfer-Preis für Wirtschaftspublizistik ausgezeichnet.
