Water is such a matter of course that people, especially in the rich countries of the North, do not give any thought to the fact that water is the most valuable commodity on earth. Water itself is abundant on earth thanks to the oceans, but drinking water is a scarce commodity - even in the so-called rich countries. Developments over the last 200 years, particularly in Europe, America and Asia, show that as prosperity increases, humans not only consume more and more drinking water, but also waste and pollute it. Humans have still not learned to make do with this scarce resource. Climate change, the fact that approximately 3.5 billion people have no direct access to drinking water, and the fact that the quality of drinking water is significantly inadequate in most developing countries and emerging powers have still not changed behaviour. The fact that migration caused by climate change, the increase in deserts and uninhabitable areas of the earth solely due to the lack of drinking water highlights the scale of the current problem and the future challenges facing humanity. Since white people, and Europeans and Americans in particular, still show no consideration for the world's drinking water, they should not be surprised if, in the face of massive refugee movements, Western populations no longer feel safe in their oases of prosperity. This also applies to Germany, and above all to Germany. Water is a human right. There is no life on earth without water. Nothing, absolutely nothing, has changed in this principle since time immemorial. And more than that: water is a global power that influences everything that happens in the world and determines the survival of humanity.

Über den Autor Michael Ghanem

Jahrgang 1949, aufgewachsen in Frankreich und Absolvent einer französischen Eliteschule mit anschließendem Studium zum Wirtschaftsingenieur. Nach seiner Übersiedlung nach Deutschland absolvierte er das Studium der Volkswirtschaft, Soziologie, Politikwissenschaft, Philosophie und Ethik. Er sieht sich als Kritiker der heutigen Globalisierung und setzt sich seit 1974 sehr stark für die Themen der Wasserwirtschaft und des Wassermanagements ein. Sein beruflicher Werdegang führte ihn zunächst zu einer internationalen Organisation, für die über 5 Jahre als Projektcontroller für große Wasserprojekte überwiegend in Afrika tätig war und darüber eine Vielzahl von Ländern und deren Führer kennengelernt hat. Im Anschluss daran arbeitete er viele Jahre bei einer europäischen Organisation sowie in mehreren internationalen Beratungsunternehmen als Berater für die Modernisierung von unterschiedlichsten Industrien und Unternehmen. Seit seiner Pensionierung lebt er zurückgezogen in Bonn und ist als Schriftsteller tätig. Er widmet sich in seinen Veröffentlichungen vor allem den drängenden gesellschaftlichen, wirtschaftlichen und politischen Fragen der heutigen Zeit sowie der Wasserwirtschaft. Bisher sind zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen zu den Themen Politik und Geopolitik, Gesellschaft, Wirtschaft erschienen. Er ist Autor von mehr als 50 Büchern. Im Bereich der Politik wird die kritische Betrachtung von Deutschland vorgenommen. Weitere Themenschwerpunkte sind Fragen der Gesundheit, Identität, Rassismus, Umwelt, Migration, Wasserwirtschaft, Afrika, Bevölkerungsentwicklung und alternative ökonomische Systeme wie die Anti-Fragilitäts-Ökonomie. Er hat aber auch einige kleine Erzählungen und Märchen veröffentlicht.
