Prayer takes many forms: sitting in silence, walking mediation, using prayer beads or folding your hands every night and talking to God. If you want something different in your life, you must pray a different prayer. We are constantly communing with the Divine throughout our daily lives - even in the most ordinary activities. Comprised of both mindfulness meditations, prayer practices and selections of sacred texts, poems and blessings, Becca Anderson, author of Prayers for Hard Times and Every Day Thankful, gathers words of encouragement, comfort and sustenance for women. From Peace Pilgrim to Psalms to Dolly Parton, this collection of power thoughts and purposeful prayers will help you get inspired, and more importantly, stay inspired. Author Becca Anderson credits her recovery from a serious illness to the power of daily prayer. But, she had to change the way she prayed and set off on an exploration of the myriad methods people use and uncovering the world's best prayers. The Women's Book of Prayer shows how to change your life by changing your prayer. You will discover how to focus on what you DO want, not what you don't want. Finally, and most importantly, you will learn how to make your prayers positive and affirming - to get more of what you want in your life. By carefully and consciously choosing affirming thoughts and deliberately looking for blessings at every opportunity - you will literally create a new life for yourself.

Über den Autor Becca Anderson

Becca Anderson comes from a long line of preachers and teachers from Ohio and Kentucky. The teacher side of her family led her to become a women's studies scholar and the author of The Book of Awesome Women. She gives gratitude workshops at churches and bookstores in the San Francisco Bay Area where she currently resides. Becca Anderson credits her spiritual practice with helping her recover from cancer and wants to share this healing wisdom with anyone who is facing difficulty in their life.Cheryl Leytjen is a geologist, environmental law attorney, spiritual practitioner, and, most importantly, devoted mother. Cheryl understands that most people don't have an endless reservoir of time, money and energy to devote to Earth-friendly practices. She is the author of Love Earth Now, a candid, often humorous exploration that reveals her own imperfect journey toward living an eco-friendly lifestyle. She is based in Los Angeles, California and serves on the Board of Directors of the North East Trees nonprofit organization.
