Über den Autor Sally Gardner

Sally Gardner wuchs im Herzen Londons auf. Da sie an Dyslexie litt, lernte sie erst im Alter von 14 Jahren lesen und schreiben. Allen Schwierigkeiten zum Trotz absolvierte sie eine führende Londoner Kunstakademie mit Auszeichnung und arbeitete schließlich als Kostümbildnerin am Theater. Nach der Geburt ihrer Kinder begann sie Bilder- und Kinderbücher zu schreiben, die mit dem renommierten Costa Award sowie der Carnegie Medal ausgezeichnet wurden. 2025 wurde Sally Gardner außerdem zum Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature (RSL) ernannt. Mit »Das Geheimnis der Braut« liegt erstmals ein großer historischer Roman der Autorin für Erwachsene auf Deutsch vor.
