Matthew Sanborn Smith is a writer of surreal science fiction and fantasy who lives in South Florida. His fiction has appeared at Reactor, Nature, and Apex Magazine, among others. His story, "Beauty Belongs to the Flowers," was given an Honorable Mention in The Year's Best Science Fiction. He is the keeper of the Beware the Hairy Mango podcast and its progeny: Beware the Patronizing Mango and Beware the Elitist Mango. His story "So We May Cry Again Tomorrow" will be part of the upcoming anthology, The Black Tapes: Haunting Tales of Lost and Dead Media, edited by Libby Cudmore and Nick Mamatas and released by Ruadán Books in the summer of 2027.
