Über den Autor Roberto Bolaño

Roberto Bolaño ist eine der großen Entdeckungen der Weltliteratur; seine Romane verweben »schlechterdings alles Essentielle der vergangenen Jahrtausende« (Die Zeit). Roberto Bolaño wurde 1953 in Santiago de Chile geboren, lebte in seiner Jugend lange in Mexiko-Stadt und siedelte später mit seiner Familie nach Spanien um. Dort starb er 2003, im vergeblichen Warten auf eine Lebertransplantation, als er gerade an seinem Meisterwerk »2666'«arbeitete. In der Werkausgabe von Roberto Bolaño sind im Fischer Taschenbuch bisher folgende Titel erschienen: »Stern in der Ferne«, »Die Naziliteratur in Amerika«, »2666«, »Amuleto«, »Das dritte Reich«, »Lumpenroman«, »Der unerträgliche Gaucho«, »Die wilden Detektive«, »Telefongespräche«, »Chilenisches Nachtstück« sowie »Mörderische Huren«. Im S. Fischer Verlag erschienen erstmals auf Deutsch die Romane »Der Geist der Science-Fiction« (2018), »Monsieur Pain« (2019) und »Die Eisbahn« (2021). Christian Hansen, 1962 in Köln geboren, lebt in Berlin und Madrid. Er übersetzt u.a. Werke von Roberto Bolaño, César Aira, Selva Almada, Guillermo Rosales und Vizconde de Lascano Tegui.
