The madness is calling

After a prisoner begs for their life at The General's feet, he strikes up a dangerous bargain. In exchange for their life, they must heal his mistress. The problem is, the poison killing his mistress has no cure, and the prisoner charged with a cure knows all too well the trouble that will befall them should they fail the sadistic ruler.

And, while The General's focus locks on the poison tearing through the frail woman, jealousy rises in his 'cast aside' queen.

Jealousy that everyone is more powerful than she is.

The mounting need to prove her worth distorts the world around her, sparking in rage and blinding her to the powerful position her husband has given her. With her own lies piling up around her, and bodies left in her enraged wake, there's no safe place she can turn, and no way to release the mounting hatred inside her.

As the young queen grapples with the urgency to secure the crown upon her head, another kingdom, worlds away and nearly forgotten, slowly falls into decay waiting for their own ruler to step up and fight for them. However, with questions meeting her at every turn and the Elders interfering with every attempt she makes to take control, Christa is trapped powerless beneath the cycles of tradition hanging over her head.
