Saichiro Fujita

Saichiro Fujita (1886-1976) was the second Japanese person to accept the Bahá'í Faith. Originally from Yanai, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, he immigrated to the United States when he was a teenager. While he was attending school in Oakland, California in 1905 he was taught the Faith by Mrs. Kathryn Frankland. Later he worked for a Bahá'í doctor in Cleveland. Fujita attempted to connect with 'Abdu'l-Bahá at Cleveland in his travels across North America but caught up with him in Chicago. Fujita would accompany 'Abdu'l-Bahá across many American cities including Kenosha, Wisconsin, St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota, Denver and Glenwood Springs, Colorado, Salt Lake City, Utah, and San Francisco and Stanford, California.
