Über den Autor Maurizio De Giovanni

Maurizio de Giovanni, 1958 in Neapel geboren, ist Neapolitaner durch und durch und damit natürlich auch ein Tifoso des SSC Neapel. Als junger Mann interessierte er sich allerdings noch mehr fu?r Wasserball und führte seinen Verein Volturo als Kapitän bis in die Serie A2. Nach dem frühen Tod seines Vaters verließ der studierte Altphilologe seine Heimatstadt, um bei einer Bank in Sizilien zu arbeiten. Zuru?ck in Neapel, begann er Anfang der 2000er Jahre neben seinem Job bei der Banco di Napoli mit dem Schreiben und gewann 2005 einen Wettbewerb fu?r Nachwuchsautoren. Seine Krimis um Commissario Ricciardi, angesiedelt im Neapel der 1930er Jahre, und die Romane um den im heutigen Süditalien ermittelnden Ispettore Lojacondo wurden in zahllose Sprachen übersetzt und von der Kritik gefeiert. De Giovanni ist verheiratet und Vater zweier Söhne.
