This book presents selected research contributions from the 6th International Conference on Novel & Intelligent Digital Systems (NiDS 2026), held in Athens, Greece, on September 23-25, 2026, in hybrid format. Hosted by the University of West Attica and organized by EDUTeL of the University of West Attica and the Greek Computer Society (EPY/GCS), NiDS 2026 brought together an international community of researchers, academics, and professionals working on emerging intelligent digital technologies.

Volume I is dedicated to Human-Centered Intelligence and Multimodal Interaction. It explores the design and development of intelligent systems centered on human needs, capabilities, and experiences, covering areas such as human-AI interaction, multimodal and adaptive interfaces, immersive environments, personalized and affective systems, conversational technologies, accessibility, intelligent learning environments, and enhanced user experiences.

As part of the three-volume NiDS 2026 proceedings, which comprise 136 accepted papers from authors across 23 countries, this book reflects the growing importance of human-centered approaches in the development of intelligent digital systems. It offers a valuable resource for researchers, practitioners, and professionals interested in the interaction between people and AI-driven technologies and in the future of adaptive, interactive, and multimodal digital environments.
