Lucy Maud Montgomery (November 30, 1874 - April 24, 1942), published as L. M. Montgomery, was a Canadian author best known for a series of novels beginning in 1908 with Anne of Green Gables. The book was an immediate success. The title character, orphan Anne Shirley, made Montgomery famous in her lifetime and gave her an international following. Über den Autor Lucy Maud Montgomery

Lucy Maud Montgomery wurde 1874 in New London, Kanada geboren. Schon früh entdeckte sie ihre Liebe zur Literatur. Nachdem sie zahlreiche Bücher verschlungen hatte, begann sie selbst zu schreiben. Sie veröffentlichte 23 Romane, die in zahlreiche Sprachen übersetzt wurden. Die Heldinnen ihrer Bücher sind starke, unabhängige Mädchen, die ihre Wünsche und Träume durchsetzen - so wie sie. Besonders bekannt und beliebt sind ihre Reihen um Anne auf Green Gables und Emily auf der Moon Farm. Die Autorin verstarb 1942 in Toronto.
