Rainer Maria Rilke was an Austrian poet, who became internationally famous for his unique lyrical poems. Acclaimed for their idiosyncratic and expressive quality, his works embrace mysticism, exploring themes of subjective experience and disbelief. Rilke helped redefine lyric poetry, bridging nineteenth century tradition with modern existentialism, elevating the German language to unprecedented musical and philosophical heights. This eBook presents Rilke's collected works, with numerous illustrations, rare texts and concise introductions. (Version 1)

* Beautifully illustrated with images relating to Rilke's life and works * Concise introductions * The rare novel, 'The Notebook of Malte Laurids Brigge', Rilke's only long piece of fiction, digitised here for the first time in English translation * Features the important prose poem 'The Love and Death of Cornet Christopher Rilke' * Images of how the books were first published, giving your eReader a taste of the original texts * Excellent formatting of the texts * A selection of Rilke's poetry, translated by Jessie Lemont * Includes Rilke's celebrated monograph of the sculptor Rodin * Ordering of texts into genres

Please note: there are few translations of Rilke's works available, so we are unable to provide our usual comprehensive range of texts. When new works become available in the public domain, they will be added to the eBook as a free update.
