Charismatic Retreat And Psychological Maladjustment

The book on Charismatic Retreat and Psychological Maladjustment is a work of genuine study to find out the impact of the retreat upon psychological maladjustment such as depression, mania, inferiority, paranoia and total maladjustment. It is a quantitative study using quasi experimental design to find out how participation in charismatic retreat, a catholic spiritual one week long exercise that includes talks, homilies, singing, and prayer sessions, confessions, testimonies and spiritual conferences, influence in alleviating the above given psychological maladjustment. From the universe of approximately 5,000 participants in the retreat 100 were chosen using random sampling method. The respondents were given the Mathew Maladjustment Inventory (MMI) questionnaire and sufficient time and necessary instructions to perform it. It was administered before and after the retreat. The result showed significant influence of the retreat upon the participants to remedy psychological maladjustment. Charismatic retreats are highly result oriented spiritual method of healing. It helps in generating faith, forgiveness, peace of mind leading to harmony and brotherhood, a prerequisite of healing
