Kristin Hugo is a science journalist whose writing has appeared in National Geographic, PBS Newshour, Newsweek, Bay Nature Magazine, and more. Her work writing about animals, both dead and alive, has earned a Sloan Foundation Grant, a Poynter-Koch Media Fellowship, residencies at The Jentel Foundation, Badlands National Park, and The Tallgrass Artist Residency, as well as a fellowship for Creative Writing in Nonfiction from the Wyoming Arts Council. Kristin also has experience in photography, illustration, and social media, running popular accounts that focus on animal remains. She has a BA in journalism from CSU Northridge and an MS in Science Journalism from Boston University.
