Aldgate Railway Station, Adelaide

Aldgate railway station was a railway station on the former Bridgewater railway line in the Adelaide Hills suburb of Aldgate, South Australia. It was located 34.5 km by railway from Adelaide Railway Station. This station was very similar to Blackwood; the station building and shelter was the same. It was closed on 26 July 1987. At the time of closure, Aldgate had three platforms. Platform 1 was 151.2 metres long and Platforms 2 and 3 were 149.4 metres long. The island platform was demolished in the 1990s, but the main stand-alone platform remains in place. A crossing loop was provided, but was removed when the Adelaide-Melbourne line was converted to standard gauge in 1995.
