Albania in the Middle Ages

The Middle Ages in Albania is that period that starts after the region that is now Albania in the Byzantine Empire, until their incorporation in the Ottoman Empire. When the Roman Empire divided into east and west in 395, the territories of modern Albania became part of the Byzantine Empire. During this period, the region of Albania was part of Barbarian invasions, the Bulgarian Empire and the Serbian Empire. After that minor Albanian Principalities were created in all the territory, while all of them were unified in League of Lezha.
