Focusing on innovation, these proceedings present recent advances in the field of mechanical design in China and offer researchers, scholars and scientists an international platform to present their research findings and exchange their ideas. In the context of the "Made in China 2025" development strategy, one central aspect of the ICMD2017 was Innovative Design Pushes "Made in China 2025." The book highlights research hotspots in mechanical design, such as design methodology, green design, robotics and mechanics, and reliability design, while also combining industrial design and mechanical design.

Über den Autor Jianrong (Hrsg.) Tan

Jianrong Tan is Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Full Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Zhejiang University, China. He received his M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Zhejiang University. He is currently Full Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Zhejiang University, and Vice Chairman of the Mechanical Engineering Society of China. His current research interests include theory of mechanical design, digital design and manufacturing, and CAD&CG. He has published eight books and authored or coauthored over 140 papers and invited presentations for international conferences and symposia. He has received the 2nd place prize in China's national award for science and technology progress four times (2005, 2007, 2011, and 2012) and received the 1st place prize in Zhejiang province's award for scientific and technological progress seven times. Liu Zhenyu is a Qiushi Distinguished Professor at Zhejiang University. He serves as the Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering at Zhejiang University and the Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Computer-Aided Design and Graphics Systems. Additionally, he holds positions as a standing council member and deputy secretary-general of the Design Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, and a standing council member and director of the Product Information Modeling Committee of the China Graphics Society. His primary research areas include intelligent design and digital twins for complex equipment. He has published 126 SCI papers and holds 87 invention patents and 32 software copyrights. He has received two first prizes for scientific and technological progress in Zhejiang Province (both ranked first), one national second prize for teaching achievements (ranked first), and as a key contributor, he has been awarded one national first prize for scientific and technological progress, two national second prizes for scientific and technological progress. Weifei Hu received the B.S. degree in 2008 from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, the M.S. degree in 2010 from Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea, and the Ph.D. degree in 2015 from the University of Iowa, Iowa city, Iowa, USA, all in mechanical engineering. From February 2016 to September 2018, Dr. Hu was a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, USA. He is currently holding a tenured Associate Professor position at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Zhejiang University. His research interests include Digital Twin, Artificial Intelligence, Design Under Uncertainty, and Wind Energy. He is now serving as an associate editor for the journal Wind Energy Science, an editorial board member for the journal Wind Energy, and a review editor for the journal Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization, as well as serving many international conferences as chairs/co-chairs/organizers (e.g., the Asian Congress of Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization (ACSMO) and the World Congress of Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization (WCSMO)).
