Theda Perdue is Atlanta Distinguished Professor Emerita in the Department of History at the University of North Carolina. Her books include Cherokee Removal, Third Edition (2016), Race and the Atlanta Cotton States Exposition of 1895 (2010), and Cherokee Women: Gender and Culture Change, 1800-1835 (1998).
